Adults with confirmed iron deficiency, low iron stores or an increased iron requirement, as directed by a healthcare professional. It helps prevent iron-deficiency anemia and supports normal red blood cell formation. Persistent fatigue, weakness, shortness of breath or hair loss should be assessed rather than automatically treated with iron.
 
HOW TO TAKE IT
Adults 19 years and older: Take 1 capsule daily with food. Take it a few hours before or after other medications and natural health products. Avoid taking it at the same time as calcium, antacids, coffee or tea, which can reduce absorption. At the labelled dose, 120 capsules provide a 120-day supply.
 
MEDICATION & SAFETY CAUTIONS
Separate iron from levothyroxine, tetracycline or quinolone antibiotics, bisphosphonates and other interacting medications according to your pharmacist’s instructions. Check your combined iron intake if you also take a multivitamin or prenatal supplement.
 
Consult a healthcare professional before use if you have hemochromatosis, another iron-overload disorder or anemia not caused by iron deficiency. Iron may cause constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort and harmless darkening of the stool. Stop use if a hypersensitivity reaction occurs.
 
Keep securely out of reach of children—this package contains enough iron to cause serious or fatal poisoning in a child. Suspected accidental ingestion requires immediate contact with 911 or the Ontario Poison Centre.
