WHY WE STOCK IT
A standardized valerian-root extract traditionally used in herbal medicine as a sleep aid and calmative. Each capsule provides a concentrated 4:1 extract equivalent to 1,200 mg of dried valerian root and standardized to 0.8% valerenic acids.
 
BEST FOR
Adults experiencing occasional difficulty falling asleep, restlessness or nervousness. It may be useful for people seeking a single-herb, melatonin-free sleep option.
 
Valerian is not intended to treat sleep apnea, depression, an anxiety disorder or persistent insomnia. Evidence for valerian varies between individuals, and it may not provide immediate results for everyone.
 
HOW TO TAKE IT
Adults: Take 1–2 capsules daily, 30–60 minutes before bedtime, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner.
 
At the labelled dose, 90 capsules provide a 45- to 90-night supply.
 
MEDICATION AND SAFETY CAUTIONS
Valerian may cause drowsiness. Exercise caution for at least two hours after taking it when driving, operating machinery or performing activities requiring mental alertness.
Do not combine it with alcohol, cannabis, sleeping pills, benzodiazepines, opioids, sedating antihistamines or other medications and natural health products with sedative effects unless approved by a healthcare professional.
 
Consult a healthcare practitioner before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Ask our pharmacist before use if you take prescription medication, have a medical condition or already use another sleep supplement.
 
Consult a healthcare practitioner if sleeplessness continues for more than three weeks or if restlessness persists or worsens. Seek assessment sooner for loud snoring with breathing pauses, severe daytime sleepiness, chest pain, significant mood changes or thoughts of self-harm.
 
Some people may experience daytime drowsiness, dizziness, headache, stomach discomfort or, less commonly, increased restlessness. Stop use if an allergic or unexpected reaction occurs. Keep out of reach of children.

Valerian 4:1 root extract: 300 mg
Equivalent dried valerian root: 1,200 mg
Standardized valerenic acids: 0.8%, providing approximately 2.4 mg
Non-medicinal ingredients: Rice powder, gelatin capsule, purified water, vegetable-grade magnesium stearate and silica.
 
Contains gelatin and is not vegetarian or vegan.
