A high-grade Japanese matcha with a smooth, creamy texture, gentle vegetal notes and savoury umami character. Amoda identifies it as shade-grown in Uji, Kyoto Prefecture, and traditionally stone-ground for drinking hot or iced without added sweetener.
 
Because the entire tea leaf is consumed as a fine powder, matcha naturally provides caffeine and tea polyphenols.
 
BEST FOR
Matcha drinkers looking for an unsweetened tea with a balanced flavour suitable for traditional preparation. The 30 g package provides approximately 15–30 servings, depending on whether ½ or 1 teaspoon is used.
 
“Ceremonial” describes the intended quality, flavour and straight-drinking preparation style; it is not a regulated Canadian therapeutic grade. Matcha is not a detoxification or weight-loss treatment.
 
HOW TO PREPARE IT
Sift ½–1 teaspoon into a matcha bowl or wide cup.
Add approximately 60–80 mL of water heated to 70–80°C. Avoid boiling water, which may make the tea bitter.
Whisk briskly in a zigzag motion until evenly suspended and lightly frothy.
Drink as prepared or add more water or ice to taste.
 
Begin with ½ teaspoon if you are sensitive to caffeine or new to matcha. Stir or whisk again if the powder settles.
 
MEDICATION AND SAFETY CAUTIONS
Matcha naturally contains caffeine, but the exact amount varies with the leaf and serving size. Excess caffeine may cause difficulty sleeping, anxiety, tremor, headache, heartburn, nausea, increased heart rate or palpitations. Avoid taking it late in the day if it disrupts sleep.
 
Ask a healthcare professional before regular use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an irregular heartbeat, uncontrolled blood pressure, significant anxiety or severe acid reflux. Include matcha when calculating caffeine from coffee, tea, energy drinks, chocolate, medications and supplements.
 
Caffeine can add to the stimulating effects of ADHD medications, decongestants and other caffeine-containing products.
 
Green tea naturally contains vitamin K. If you take warfarin, keep your matcha intake consistent and consult the clinician monitoring your INR before making a substantial change.
 
Tea compounds can reduce the absorption of non-heme iron. If you have iron deficiency or take an iron supplement, consume matcha at least 1–2 hours apart from the supplement and iron-rich meals.
 
Stop use and seek medical advice if persistent palpitations, marked dizziness or another concerning reaction develops. Seek urgent care for chest pain, fainting or difficulty breathing.
 
INGREDIENT AND ALLERGEN INFORMATION
One ingredient: Organic Japanese matcha green-tea powder (Camellia sinensis).
 
Labelled organic, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, unsweetened and sugar-free. No soy ingredient is listed; however, a facility-level soy cross-contact statement could not be verified. Customers with a severe soy allergy should confirm the current physical package or contact Amoda before use.
 
Amoda reports third-party testing of its matcha for heavy metals, lead and radiation. Confirm the current package if a specific certification or laboratory report is required.
 
STORAGE
Keep tightly sealed and protected from heat, light, moisture and strong odours. Refrigerating after opening can help preserve freshness. If refrigerated, allow the sealed package to approach room temperature before opening to reduce condensation, and always use a clean, dry spoon.
