A Canadian-made tincture prepared from certified-organic marshmallow root. Traditionally used as a soothing demulcent to relieve irritation of the mouth and throat and the dry cough associated with that irritation.
 
“Guimauve” is simply the French name for marshmallow; this is a single-herb marshmallow-root formula.
 
BEST FOR
Adults experiencing a dry, irritated throat or non-productive cough who prefer a liquid herbal preparation. It is not an expectorant for loosening thick mucus and does not treat asthma, pneumonia or another underlying respiratory infection.
 
HOW TO TAKE IT
Adults: Take 1.3–1.7 mL—approximately 40–50 drops—four times daily in a little water on an empty stomach.
 
Take it a few hours before or after medications and other natural health products. Depending on the dose used, the 50 mL bottle provides approximately a 7- to 10-day supply.
 
MEDICATION & SAFETY CAUTIONS
Marshmallow root contains mucilage that coats and soothes irritated tissues but may delay the absorption of oral medication. Separate it from prescription drugs and supplements by at least two hours—or longer if directed by your pharmacist.
 
Consult a healthcare practitioner before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Stop use and seek advice if symptoms persist or worsen.
Seek prompt medical assessment for a cough lasting more than one week, recurring cough, high fever, wheezing or thick yellow or green mucus. Difficulty breathing, chest pain, blue lips, confusion or coughing up blood requires urgent care. This tincture contains alcohol.
 
INGREDIENT INFORMATION
Each 1 mL contains the equivalent of 250 mg of certified-organic marshmallow root (Althaea officinalis) in a 1:4 tincture.
 
Non-medicinal ingredients: distilled water, certified-organic alcohol and certified-organic vegetable glycerine. Vegan, non-GMO and made in Canada.
