A single-ingredient green powder made from the juice of young organic barley grass. Adults looking for a convenient way to add greens to water, smoothies or smoothie bowls. It can complement a balanced diet but does not replace vegetables, a multivitamin or medically directed treatment for a nutrient deficiency. Claims that green powders “detox” the body should be interpreted cautiously—the liver and kidneys perform the body’s primary detoxification functions.
 
HOW TO USE IT
Mix 1 scoop with 180–240 mL—6–8 oz—of cold water. It may also be blended into smoothies, smoothie bowls, salad dressings, dips or other unheated foods.
The current 150 g package provides approximately 18 servings based on an 8 g serving. Check the scoop and Nutrition Facts panel on the package, as serving information has varied between label versions.
 
MEDICATION & SAFETY CAUTIONS
Barley grass naturally contains vitamin K. Anyone taking warfarin should consult a pharmacist before use and maintain a consistent intake rather than changing the amount suddenly.
 
Do not use if you have a barley or grass allergy. Although the finished product is labelled gluten-free and is made from young grass rather than barley grain, people with celiac disease should confirm that the package carries the gluten-free claim and certification appropriate for their needs.
 
Introduce it gradually if you are not accustomed to concentrated green powders, as digestive discomfort may occur. Consult a healthcare practitioner before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding or if you have a medical condition requiring controlled vitamin K, potassium or mineral intake.
