Adults with inadequate selenium intake or an increased requirement identified by a healthcare professional. Selenium deficiency is uncommon in Canada, so this higher-potency supplement is not automatically necessary for everyone. It does not treat thyroid disease, infertility, prostate conditions or cancer.
 
HOW TO TAKE IT
Adults 19 years and older: Take 1 capsule once daily. At the labelled dose, 120 capsules provide a 120-day supply.
 
Review your total selenium intake before combining it with a multivitamin, thyroid formula or other selenium-containing supplement.
 
MEDICATION & SAFETY CAUTIONS
Consult a healthcare practitioner before use if you have a history of non-melanoma skin cancer. Seek professional guidance during pregnancy or breastfeeding, if you have thyroid or kidney disease, or if you are receiving chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
 
The adult tolerable upper intake level is 400 mcg daily from food and supplements. Avoid exceeding this amount unless medically supervised. Brazil nuts can contain highly variable and sometimes substantial amounts of selenium, so eating them regularly while taking this product may result in excessive intake.
 
Signs of excess selenium may include garlic-like breath, a metallic taste, nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, irritability, skin rash, hair loss or brittle nails. Stop use and seek medical advice if these symptoms develop. Keep out of reach of children.
