WHY WE STOCK IT
A concentrated liquid iodine supplement providing 150 mcg per drop. The iodine is supplied as potassium iodide in a glycerin base with Japanese kelp extract. Iodine helps prevent deficiency and supports normal thyroid-gland function.
 
BEST FOR
Adults who need iodine supplementation because of inadequate dietary intake or a professionally identified increased requirement. People who regularly consume iodized salt, seafood, dairy products or an iodine-containing multivitamin may already receive enough iodine.
 
Fatigue, weight changes, hair loss or feeling unusually cold should not automatically be treated with iodine, as these symptoms can have many causes and require proper assessment.
 
HOW TO TAKE IT
Adults: Take 1 drop twice daily with meals, or as recommended by a healthcare practitioner. Shake well before each use.
 
Each drop provides 150 mcg of iodine; the full labelled daily dose provides 300 mcg. A 30 mL bottle contains approximately 1,000 drops or a 500-day supply, although the actual number may vary with drop size.
 
MEDICATION & SAFETY CAUTIONS
Consult a healthcare professional before use if you have hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, Graves’ disease, thyroid nodules or another thyroid condition. Both excessive and insufficient iodine can disrupt thyroid function.
 
Ask our pharmacist before combining it with levothyroxine, desiccated thyroid, methimazole, propylthiouracil, lithium or amiodarone. Avoid combining it with kelp, seaweed, iodine-containing multivitamins or other iodine supplements without reviewing the total daily amount.
 
Consult a healthcare professional before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding or if taking any medication. Stop use and seek advice if neck swelling, unusual fatigue, tremor, sweating, heat or cold intolerance, unexplained weight change or a rapid or irregular heartbeat develops.
 
This supplement is not potassium iodide intended for a nuclear or radiation emergency and should not be used for that purpose.
