A fish-free liquid omega-3 made from cultivated algae rather than fish oil. Each teaspoon provides 1000 mg of the long-chain omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA in a naturally formed triglyceride form, with a light strawberry-orange flavour.

Adults following vegan, vegetarian or fish-free diets who want a direct source of EPA and DHA. These omega-3 fatty acids help support cardiovascular health, cognitive and brain function, eye health and the maintenance of good health.
 
Unlike flax, chia and other sources of alpha-linolenic acid, algal oil supplies EPA and DHA directly and does not depend on the body converting ALA into these longer-chain omega-3s.
This is the regular-strength NutraVege formula. It provides half the EPA and DHA found in the company’s Extra Strength liquid.
 
HOW TO TAKE IT
Adults: Shake well and take 1 teaspoon (5 mL) once daily.
It may be taken directly from a spoon or mixed into a cool smoothie, yogurt or other food. Do not add it to hot food because heat can accelerate oxidation of the oil.
 
At the labelled dose, the 200 mL bottle provides approximately 40 daily servings.
Refrigerate after opening and consume within 100 days. Keep the bottle tightly closed and protected from light.
 
MEDICATION AND SAFETY CAUTIONS
Consult a healthcare practitioner before use if you:
Take warfarin, another anticoagulant or an antiplatelet medication
Have a bleeding disorder
Are preparing for surgery
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Take medication or use another high-dose omega-3 supplement
 
The labelled 1000 mg daily amount is moderate, but omega-3 supplements may still require review when used with medications that affect bleeding.
 
Possible effects include nausea, loose stools, indigestion or an unpleasant aftertaste. Stop use if an allergic reaction occurs.
 
Although the oil itself is algae-derived and contains no fish oil, the product is manufactured in a facility that also processes fish oil. Anyone with a severe fish allergy should consult the manufacturer or a healthcare professional before use.
 
Do not use if the safety seal is broken or missing. Keep out of reach of children. Discard the product if it develops a strongly rancid, bitter or otherwise unusual smell or taste.

Each 5 mL serving contains:
Algal oil from Schizochytrium species: 1 g
Total EPA and DHA: 1000 mg
EPA: 600 mg
DHA: 400 mg
 
The EPA and DHA occur as naturally formed triglycerides.
 
NON-MEDICINAL INGREDIENTS AND ALLERGENS
Organic medium-chain triglycerides (MCT oil), natural strawberry and orange flavours, rosemary extract, tocopherols derived from non-GMO soy, green-tea extract and monk-fruit extract.
 
The formula is vegetarian and vegan-friendly and contains no fish oil. The tocopherols are derived from soy, so this product should not be advertised as soy-free. It is also produced in a facility that processes fish oil.
